Sensible Training Solutions owner Jon Gentile currently lives in Henderson Nevada and is a graduate of Western Connecticut State University with a Bachelor in Science and graduated from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Academy. He was with LVMPD for over 26 years and is a retired Police Sergeant.
He worked in a variety of areas during his career such as Patrol, Burglary, Viper Auto Theft Task Force, and Criminal Intelligence Unit.
During his career, Jon was promoted to Sergeant and supervised several squads from Patrol, Surveillance Squad, and the Major Violators Unit. He was a Defensive Tactics Instructor for over 23 years. After retiring, Jon continues to train a variety of law enforcement professionals thru his company Sensible Training Solutions.
Jon Gentile is known particularly thru a conferences for his class on Edged Weapons called “Edge Weapons 101 for Law Enforcement” which he has taught and revised over the last 20 years. He also teaches training modules involving Surveillance, Operations Plans, and the Use of Force related classes.
He has a sister company that fosters training in a variety of martial art disciplines. He has over 40 years of training in a variety of martial arts to which he holds various ranks. He can be seen in the latest Jason Harney 2022 film by Lightning Digital Entertainment “WRISTLOCK”. This film analyses the influence and impact of martial arts on police training and surrounding issues officers face.
